Goodwill Appoints Interim CEO

Bridgeport, Conn. (December 31, 2019) Goodwill of Western and Northern Connecticut (GWNC), a driving force in helping individuals with disabilities, economic disadvantages and other barriers to employment increase their independence and contribute to their communities, today announced the appointment of Suzanne Baldasare, Esq., Chairman of GWNC’s Board of Directors, as interim CEO. Baldasare succeeds CEO Vickie Volpano, who led the organization for six years and was instrumental in growing GWNC’s footprint within Connecticut.

Goodwill of Western and Northern Connecticut provides critical job training and placement for individuals with barriers to employment throughout its region and generates vital program funding through its retail stores.

“I’m delighted to lead the hundreds of talented individuals who work across our career centers, human services, retail, and administration as we prepare to welcome a new CEO,” Baldasare, Interim CEO, said.

Ms. Baldasare will lead the Fairfield County nonprofit until a new CEO has been appointed. GWNC has enlisted Scion Nonprofit Staffing to lead recruitment efforts for a new CEO.
